Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung e.V., c/o Dr. Brigitte Reineke, Deutsches Historisches Museum, Unter den Linden 2, 10117 Berlin, Germany (see Imprint for contact details).

Our principle: minimal data collection by design

This website has been deliberately built to collect as little personal data as possible:

  • No analytics or tracking services. We do not use any analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Matomo).
  • No cookies. This website does not set any cookies.
  • No embedded third-party content. Maps, fonts and images are served exclusively from our own server; there are no embedded map widgets, videos or social-media plugins that would transmit data to third parties.
  • Self-hosted fonts. The typefaces used (Spectral, IBM Plex Sans, IBM Plex Mono) are loaded from our own server, not from Google Fonts or any other external provider.

Hosting and server logs

This website is served via GitLab Pages. When you visit a page, the hosting provider automatically processes access data (including IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser used) in server log files, as is technically necessary to operate the site. This processing is required for the technical operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is not combined with any other data.

Local storage in your browser

If you star panels on the programme page, your selection is stored in your browser’s local storage (localStorage) so that it is still there on your next visit. This data never leaves your device, is never transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

This website links to external services (e.g. the ticket platform ticketpay.de, OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, Apple Maps, and the websites of the participating museums and institutions). The operators of those external sites are solely responsible for data processing there. Clicking such a link takes you away from our website.

Contacting us by email

If you contact us by email, we store your details (sender address and any other personal data included in the message) for the purpose of handling your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Please contact us via the address given in the Imprint to exercise these rights.
